- Improvement of Public Service Delivery mechanism of the Regional Administration (District and Divisional Secretariats), fulfilling the objectives of the national policy framework:
- Functional Review of Divisional and District Administration with special reference to integration of key information, processes and resources.
- Action on citizen-oriented workflow simplifications and review the Citizens’ Charters.
- Capacity building and attitudinal transformation support at District, Divisional Secretariat and Grama Niladhari levels.
- Effective collaborations with state and non-state stakeholders to transform the organizations and divisions under the Ministry for improved service delivery and internal resource management.
- Implement the e-Grama Niladhari (eGN) Project
- The project focuses on empowering all 14,022 Grama Niladharis to deliver required public services and other official activities by using a special ICT system (hardware, trilingual software and connectivity), that functions on a specially designed household database with easy-to-use facilities to citizens and other officials as well.
- This database would serve as the most reliable grassroots level household information of the government that can be shared for the government’s regulatory and development purposes.
