The State Ministry of Home Affairs states that those who have lost their livelihoods due to the imposition of the quarantine curfew and have not yet received the allowance of Rs. 2,000 provided by the government can appeal to the Divisional Secretariat.
Secretary to the Ministry of State N.H.M Chithrananda said that the appeals should be made expeditiously through the Grama Niladhari in charge of the area where he resides.
This allowance is available to families who have lost their sources of income due to the closure of the country and do not receive any allowance from the government. Such families have been identified in 18 lakhs of Seats Island wide and the allowance of Rs. 2000 for those families is paid by the District Secretariats and Divisional Secretariats.
