Mr. Ashoka Priyantha, State Minister for Home Affairs, said that the "e-Grama Niladhari" project has started the collection of data related to the digitization of family information including the household list.
The Minister of State mentioned this while joining the special mobile service for giving certificates to people who do not have birth, marriage, and death certificates organized jointly by the Registrar General's Department and the State Ministry of Home Affairs held at the Halawata Divisional Secretariat on 17.06.2023.
The collection of data related to the "e-Grama Niladhari" project is to be implemented based on the districts of Puttalam, Kalutara, Colombo, Gampaha, Hambantota, Mannar, and Matara.
State Minister Mr. Ashoka Priyantha further said that the purpose of this "e-Grama Niladhari" national project is to efficiently perform the public services performed by the village officials with new technology.
For this district, a village officer of the relevant division or an authorized divisional secretariat officer will come and take the relevant information in the future.
By digitizing the information related to the "e-Grama Niladhari" project, the services and certificates obtained from the public service can be obtained online in the future.
For this occasion, Additional Secretary of the State Ministry of Home Affairs Ananda Vanninayake, Puttalam District Secretary H.M.S. P. Herath, Registrar General Samantha Wijayasinghe, Senior Assistant Secretary Chatura Kumarathunga, Arachchikattuwa, Pallama, Halawatha, Madampe Divisional Secretaries were also present.
A discussion was held on "Mahajana Dinaya" program, organized by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini (TV) Corporation, with the participation of State Minister Hon. Asoka Priyantha, Additional Secretary (Regional Administration Reforms) Mr. Waruna Sri Dhanapala, and Director General (SLIDA) Mr. Nlaka Kaluwewa
Mr. Nalaka Kaluwewa, a special grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, as the new Director General of the Sri Lanka Development Administration, and Mr. Panduka Sri Prabhat Abeywardena, a senior officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, as the Badulla District Secretary.
Appointments were made in the Ministry on 13.06.2023 by the Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government Mr. Dinesh Gunawardena. Ministry Secretary Mr. Ranjith Ashoka was also present on these occasions.
